What the role is and where you fit in
We are looking for a competent technical leader for a Terminal Manager role for Shell Canada, particularly in our Ottawa/Kingston assets. As the successful candidate for the role, you will be responsible for leading HSSE compliance as well as cost effective operations of our Ottawa and Kingston Terminals. This includes the management of the product inventories, tanks, buildings and equipment and the direct supervision of a team comprised of a Supervisor, Terminal Operators, as well as contractors.
Accountabilities also include:
Overseeing and coordinating a 24/7 operation of incoming and outgoing products (pipeline and trucking loading & offloading facilities).
Site HSSE and maintenance execution consistent with corporate standards including team communications, training sessions, incident investigation and root cause investigation
Active collaboration with Supply Operations, HSSE, Product Quality, Marketing, engineering and balance of Distribution Team to address and manage all community concerns or complaints ensuring public perception of Shell is in line with corporate direction.
Customer/client service levels on supply & distribution of light oil products.
Site maintenance through effective cost management and safety practices & controls established with contractors. Involves compliance to policies/practices, contract management, contractor supervision, auditing and performance issue management.
Work with Facility Engineers and Business Development to develop and execute the 5/10-year capital plan and its project implementations.
Manage expense-operating budgets for maximum value and ideal costs.
Work closely with HSE advisor to support safe efficient operations and compliance with CF requirements.
Respond to and manage all Terminal emergencies such as fire and/or product releases through assuring the requisite training of all Terminal personnel. Requires the development, maintenance and exercising of current contingency and emergency response plans.
Act as on-scene commander in case of emergencies.

Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Business related field or technical diploma.
At least 3 years minimum frontline operational or technical experience, with demonstrated ability to deliver own results and through others. Prior leadership/direct supervisory experience is an asset.
Response to unplanned events and incidents is required from time to time during evenings and
weekends.
