Inbound Transportation Manager

Profile

**_What youll be doing:_**
Collaborates with the Staples Contract and Retail leadership teams in preparing and planning strategies to meet the daily, weekly, and monthly customer service and financial goals
Responsible and accountable for P&L commitments for project delivery and efficiency savings.
Collaborate with Carrier Management and Transportation Managers to improve transportation services to current customers and setup of new customers.
Support RFP discovery and validation data for National and regional contracts with LTL, Truckload and Intermodal service providers.
Conduct weekly or bi-monthly service calls with 3rd party providers to review KPIs and facilitate performance improvement strategies.
Reduce delivery expense as a percent to sales by implementing or managing for results the following tools or systems: JDA (Blue Yonder) TMS, Microsoft BI, Galaxy AS400.
Assist preparing operational and service delivery budget for all impacted business units. Provide financial acumen to Transportation team to help achieve budgeted goals. Analyze results and provide corrective actions when needed.
Research and resolve Freight Payment delays and disputes.
Analyze processes for problem identification and resolution. Reviews and analyzes results of error patterns and recommends corrective action to management. Sets timelines for resolution and/or improvement. Create new processes. Monitors implementation of corrective actions to ensure completion and follow-through
Develop staff to be capable of coaching, counseling, and motivating Associates to attain optimum performance, productivity levels, and associate engagement. Conduct timely and valuable performance reviews. Ensure communication and teamwork among staff to aid in the accomplishment of the department objectives.
Act as a Corporate Citizen, representing the Staples in a positive and professional manner. Responsible for customer facing, giving tours, and acting as point person for the Staples to guests and visitors.
**What you bring to the table:**
This position influences and recommends the implementation of processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement in efficiency and service improvements to Senior divisional leadership.
Management of Territory Planner/Analysts team; provide direction and project management support to territory and route optimization initiatives.
Must have the ability to provide guidance and work direction to various levels of leadership; to motivate others and maintain improved operational performance and associate engagement levels.
Possesses a sense of urgency required in a deadline driven environment and is able to prioritize appropriately.
Detailed experience in customer service and project resolution
Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers
Travel limited travel may be required
**Qualifications :**
**Whats needed- Basic Qualifications**
7 years of progressive experience in delivery/logistics operation and fleet management. (Minimum 3 years at management level).
Strong computer skills experience with tools such as: (TMS, data querying, Microsoft BI, AS400, MS Excel)
Experience with Route and Software optimization management tools
Senior project management skills required, including creation, implementation, training and financial accountability
**Whats needed- Preferred Qualifications**
**Bachelors Degree preferred in related discipline (i.e. logistics, engineering or business).**
