(AACOG)
This is a responsible non-supervisory position requiring knowledge of transportation and vehicle maintenance practices and procedures. Assist the Maintenance Lead in maintaining a schedule of regular maintenance and repairs and emergency repairs for all vehicles; Identifies maintenance and repair work to be done; Assist the Maintenance Lead in coordinating the delivery and pick up of vehicles needing maintenance and ensures that transportation services are not disrupted by scheduled or unscheduled maintenance/repairs;
Assist the Maintenance Lead in inspecting the vehicle upon completion of maintenance and/or repairs and ensuring all work is done to specification and is done correctly; Assist the Maintenance Lead in monitoring the transportation vehicle(s) to ensure they are clean, in compliance, and in safe working order; Assist the Maintenance Lead in monitoring the warranty period for all work performed on the vehicles; Reviews invoices for work performed and recommends payment for satisfactory work performed; Keeps records of vehicle maintenance history; Assist the Maintenance Lead in filing required insurance claims and insures vehicle(s) are repaired to specifications; Notifies the Maintenance Lead and Manager when service providers are performing unsatisfactory work; Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Desired Education/Job Experience:
High school graduation, or its equivalent, plus at least five years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Other Qualifications:
Knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation, Federal Transportation Administration drug and alcohol rules and regulations, Defensive Driving, and First Aide/CPR; Knowledge of vehicle maintenance management systems, automotive systems and alternative fuels; Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and work related public; Assess and evaluate the need for and adequacy of vehicle repairs; Ability to perform automobile troubleshooting; Ability to use a personal computer, including standard word processing and spreadsheet software; Work independently and creatively.
Certificates and Licenses Required: Valid Texas commercial driver's license (CDL), and Defensive Driving, First Aide, and CPR certifications within 90 days of hire.
This position is a Pay Grade 5, with a starting hourly rate of $13.86. This is an non-exempt position. Open until Filled.
