The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (MDOT) is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist Supervisor (IT Systems Technical Specialist Supervisor)
within the Office of Transportation Technology Services. This position is the supervisory level of work planning and developing improvements across various system platforms. The Cybersecurity Specialist Supervisor (IT Systems Technical Specialist Supervisor) is responsible for network communications, encryption of sensitive data, firewall administration, configuring Virtual Private Networks (VPN)/remote access, managing security software and services, application processing, digital certificate processing, database transaction processing, data/system processing, and network security. Duties include but are not limited to: Providing system security support, direction, solutions, and improvements for the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (MDOT) on the IBM Mainframe Reviewing, managing, debugging, and analyzing daily system summary reports, technical documents, and journals Providing identity management and administration for the network users using Entrust Security Software Verifying all modifications, new options, and features through comprehensive performance testing using CA-ACF2 compiler and commands
The incumbent will supervise lower-level technical specialists.
The current vacancy exists at the MDOT TSO in the Office of Transportation Technology Services (OTTS) located in Hanover, MD (Anne Arundel County).

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other information technology-related field to include coursework in application, communication, database or operating systems software technology.
Experience
Four (4) years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software.
Two (2) years of this experience must include experience implementing and executing vulnerability, incident or threat management processes, and firewall administration.

The following is desirable for the ideal candidate to possess:
Professional-level certification in IT security such as CISM, CISSP or CISA Strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software and networks Meticulous attention to detail Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IT systems A forensic approach to challenges An understanding of industry standards such as NIST, CIS, SANS or others

3. Experience operating multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining a tape library to process data on multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software; or converting data from project specifications by developing program code using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages may be substituted for high school on a year-for-year basis.
Special Requirements:
The employee in this position will be required to work on-call rotation shifts and evening and weekend hours when needed.
