Temperanceville Yard Driver N/S Recieving

Profile

This position is responsible for operating trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Transporting live haul trailers across the yard and supplying Live Receiving with birds.

The Yard Driver retrieves dropped trailers with live birds from the live scale and places the trailers in the live holding shed. Turn fans & misters on as needed to counter weather extremes Hooks back to the trailers in the live holding shed, he pulls the trailers with full cages across the weigh scale. Transports the trailers with full cages to the receiving area and removes the hold down chains securing the cages to the trailers. Replaces the hold down chains when the trailer with empty cages is ready to be removed. Report any damage done to trailers, cages, fans, forklift, trucks, or product immediately. Transports the trailer across the weigh scale, and drops the trailer on back side of the holding shed once ready to go back into the field. Two to three times daily he picks up offal trailers from the offal room for dumping DOA’s and transport trailers back to the offal room. He is additionally responsible for giving breaks to the forklift operators and the cage dump operators.

II. MUSCULAR / SKELETAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

1. Good hand / eye coordination. 2. Subject to external environment, heat and cold.



Must be able to get in and out of truck 4. Capable of working in excess of 8 hours per shift and up to 6 or 7 days per week when required. 5. Capable of catching stray chickens if necessary.


III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, DIPLOMAS OR TECHNICAL EXPERTISE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB FUNCTIONS.

1. Current and up to date driver’s license. 2. Good driving record. 3. Good previous work and attendance record. 4. Capable of performing all listed job functions. 5. Must be able to read and write. 6. Must have very good basic math skills. 7. Must be willing to work weekends when required
