****Job Description The Transportation Manager for the New Jersey branch will be responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the branch. This includes managing budgets, organizing schedules & routes, and ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements. Daily management of fleet drivers and all aspects of customer transportation needs. The TM will also negotiate all local third-party transportation rates (to be competitive). The TM will manage Veolia-owned and leased assets as well as our Middlesex Service Facility 10-day trailers and materials. The TM will be responsible for all service vehicle permits/permit books, AOBRD/ELD maintenance and problem-solving, 150-mile radius forms, ICC monthly reports, and fuel tax reporting.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Manage Veolia Roll-Off, Vacuum, and Tractor fleet drivers. (HOS, MVC compliance, daily paperwork, etc)
Coordinate transportation offerings with NJB internal customers.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs with mechanics. Enter data into ARI.
Daily communication with operations staff.
Manifesting
Manage the outbound 10-day material from the Middlesex service center to various disposal outlets.
Manage daily NJB transportation schedule on Google docs.
Create the pre-printed manifests for our direct and tractor drivers' customers
Negotiate competitive third-party transportation rates for the NJB. (FCI, ETGI, S&J, Lacy’s)
Maintain a log of special transportation rates for Tranzact approval.
Approve all transportation invoices in Tranzact
Coordinate Puerto Rico shipments.
Load supply trailers to Puerto Rico from our Middlesex service center and create the BOL with declared value.
Fuel receipts for fuel used by our service vehicles for fuel tax reporting. (monthly/quarterly)
Forklift trained to help 10 days or Puerto Rico loading.
Back up for 10-day staff. (Vacations, etc)
Vehicle permits (permit books) for our service vehicles. Assist each service center's project manager but be audit ready for any DOT inspections.
Vehicle compliance at the Middlesex Service Center. ( IE: snow removal from roof tops, etc)
Rail car knowledge to assist the plant with FRA ( Federal Railroad Association)
FRA-OTMA (one-time movement authorization)
Future planning/process improvement.
AllOneHealth is back up for transportation incidents and D&A testing.
After-hour questions from Sales/TAR & Emergency Response personnel. (Job cancels and readjusting the schedule)
Analyze demurrage charges for the savings log.
Create the quarterly transportation savings log.
Asset management of leased vehicles ( trailers, vans, and vac tankers)
Asset management of Veolia-owned vehicles (Roll-Off, Vacuum, Tractors, and Trailers)
Communicate accidents/incidents immediately to Operations Manager.
NJDEP solid waste reporting.
Additional scope as deemed necessary by NJB management.
Qualifications CDL B is a plus, forklift training, OSHA 40 Hazwoper, field system for pre-prints
