PriceWaterhouseCoopers announces 500 Layoffs In Tampa Offices

Consulting and accounting giant PricewaterhouseCoopers has announced a staggering 500 layoffs of its in-house information technology employees. The layoffs will mostly come from its Florida offices based in Tampa.The firm says the layoffs are a step towards creating improved IT services in the U.S. and U.K. PWC’s IT support staff will go from 1,100 employees to 600 employees, nearly half that number.
PWC has around 31,000 employees across the nation, and before the layoffs, 1,800 of those jobs were based in Tampa. PWC s will encourage those laid off employees to apply for open and new positions with the company and severance will be offered to those who are not hired.
