Port of Tacoma to Hold Layoffs

The Port of Tacoma will cut employees in response to declining cargo volumes.The company has not announced how many of its 255 employees will be affected. The official announcement will come in May, and all laid off employees will get 45-days notice.
The Port of Tacoma is an independent seaport located in Tacoma , Washington. The port was created by a vote of Pierce County citizens in 1918. Port activities account for more than 43,000 jobs in Pierce County, and 113,000 jobs in Washington state.
