Pittsburgh Mayor to Create Teen Summer Jobs

The mayor of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania wants to hire at least 500 young people at $7.25 an hour this summer, to do jobs like cleaning up litter and planting flowers.

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl wants to to spend $1.5 million in federal economic stimulus funds and block grants for the city’s Summer Youth Employment Program.

The six-week summer program for city residents aged 14 to 21 runs from July 6th to August 14th.
