Job Description
This driver position must drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 GVW, to transport finished product, raw materials and packaging within NRH complex, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson Policies and Procedures. The shuttle driver is also responsible for keeping the yard clean.
Applicants must be able to maintain accurate logs and paperwork when required. Position is required to keep focus on safety in and out of the truck every hour of every day. Applicants must be willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach. Applicants must be willing to lift 50lbs on a regular basis in many areas (weight depends on area). Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work in either cold, damp or hot, humid environments and these areas may have slippery walking surfaces. Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work outdoors in extreme heat and/or cold conditions and requires driving during inclement weather and areas of operation may have slippery walking surfaces.
Job Requirements
This position requires commercial drivers' license, knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods with a tractor trailer, including the relative costs and benefits. Applicants must be able to maintain operational records, must report any safety concerns to supervisor, must maintain DOT records daily and must maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations. Applicants will not be considered prior to 6 months post previous Tyson employment. Applicants that have worked for Tyson Foods 3 times prior, will not be eligible for employment Applicants that have a positive or adulterated drug screen or who are unable or refuse to give a sample will not be considered further and must wait a minimum of 6 months to reapply. In addition, applicants must be 21 years of age and have at least one year of driving experience. Applicants must have a valid Class A CDL.
