**Job Description:**Boart Longyear is hiring for a Customs and Logistics Agent in our corporate offices in Salt Lake City, UT. This position provides support, guidance and enforces compliance on all imports and exports within the Region.The role will contribute to the development of standard global policies, processes, metrics and reporting and will provide technical support to the Regional Distribution Manager and Territory Materials Managers.The Customs and Logistics Agent will also be expected to manage the import and export processes for the North American region.Key measurements of success include: Compliant Exports and Imports, freight cost reduction, shipment tracking and on-time delivery.**Position Description:** Oversees the imports and exports for North America and all related activities Oversee verification of export controls, special licensing, HTS classifications, country of origin determination, and any other information required for the export of shipments from within the Region. Oversee Temporary Imports, ATA Carnets, and any other types of bonded transfers within the Region Oversee tracking and tracing of all inbound international shipments Tenders shipment and schedules pick up with designated freight forwarders and carriers Resolution management of delayed shipments, cargo claims, and carrier issues Work with Boart Longyearu2019s contracted 4PL, Clearing agents and freight companies to: Reduce logistics and Clearing costs Reduce lead times Build an accurate HS Code Library Oversee completion and filing of documentation relating to transportation and import / export compliance Ensure that all Import/Export files for their specific Territory are: Complete Accurate Auditable Provide supporting documentation and information upon request**Position Requirements:** 3 to 5 yrs. demonstrated experience in supply chain, specifically handling international Logistics Experience and possess knowledge of Import/Export principles, processes and practices. Demonstrated proficiency in using first tier ERP software package. Oracle/SAP transportation management experience preferred. IATA / FIATA certification preferred Strong analytical skills and a process orientation. Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.
