Summary: This Position will manage and analyze all aspects of logistics models including but not limited to, inventory management, capital and growth initiatives, and relative business needs supporting the Blend B.U. Responsibilities include evaluate warehouse and transportation network design to synchronize with the overall supply chain requirements.
Job Duties: Promptly respond to request from internal/external customers; manage cost and service thru carrier network optimization with primary directive centered on maintaining current service leadership position while minimizing our overall transportation expense; oversee transportation planning of all Tyson Blend orders with directive on controlling assessorial distribution cost; scheduling inbound and outbound loads with availability to respond after hours as needs arise; own and maintain the logistics networking modeling tools and utilization to include determining optimal solutions for the company; Other duties include negotiation of freight rates, demurrage, and annual carrier contracts and associated requirements of these contracts.
Required skills: Excellent verbal, written, presentation skills to work with all levels of management. Skills include specific knowledge of logistics and overall supply chain operations including inter dependencies of each of these functions: strong analytical and negotiation skills. Computer Skills: Advanced computer required preferably in Microsoft Excel.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; or an equivalent experience in a professional or technical field. Experience; three years plus logistics background.
Travel Requirements: 6-11 domestic trips per year.
