Responsibilities include but are not limited to, strategic overview and implementation of projects, expense and revenue management, compliance with government regulations, management and direction to delivery staff and safety and security of the delivery department.u003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cbu003eRESPONSIBILITIESu003c/bu003eu003cbru003eu003culu003enu003cliu003eDirect the daily work and safety of Delivery supervisors, routing personnel and other associates.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eEnsure that management staff is effectively managing the day to day delivery activities, including but not limited to Delivery Associate adherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to planned routes, and providing safe and efficient customer service.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAssure Delivery Associate compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, OSHA, etc.) and ensure that electronic logs are kept current and accurate.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eDirect labor hours, travel, fuel, and consumable supplies within budget, maximizing time and cost efficiencies.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePrepare work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eOversee the proper selection, purchase, and utilization of company assets in support of the Delivery department.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCoordinate required repairs with proper departments as necessary.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eObserve the effectiveness of daily routing activities to ensure all established Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Sales/customer satisfaction goals are met.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePrepare budget, profit plans, and capital requests as required.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eEvaluate metrics and adjust activities to meet or exceed performance expectations.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eSuggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assist with the implementation of delivery changes.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMonitor the utilization of delivery services by reviewing the coordination of backhaul functions and other routing/scheduling activities to increase the profitability of all delivery services.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCommunicate with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to collaboratively resolve any customer or delivery opportunities or issues.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eVisit customer locations and meet with customers to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eEstablish the use and updating of productivity and routing software systems.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePreserve associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003emaintain on-going interaction.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eKeep open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMonitor associate morale.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eSubmit and respond to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eInterpret, train and consistently enforce company policies and procedures.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCoordinate efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMake recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eExecute management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePerform the duties of the associates supervised, and perform other related duties as needed (as qualified).u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cbu003eQUALIFICATIONSu003c/bu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cbu003eEducationu003c/bu003eu003cbru003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eBachelor's degree.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cbu003eExperienceu003c/bu003eu003cbru003eu003culu003eu003cliu003e7 years' related experience and/or training;
