Tractor Driver / Farm Operative required for busy fruit farm with location at Maidstone and Cranbrook. Ideally one of the two locations will be an easy commute for you. An appreciation of the unpredictable hours and nature of the work that goes with farming is necessary and so some farming experience is essential.
This role requires a proactive and diligent person that is able to work independently and as part of a team to carry out the necessary tasks in a timely manner in our organic apple and pear orchards.
My client are producers of high- quality organic apples and pears selling to sectors outside of the multiples. The successful candidate will demonstrate a can-do, positive attitude and show attention to detail. You will be required to; Perform a diverse range of activities such as tractor spraying, mowing and cultivating, orchard husbandry operations and getting involved in all farm operations as and when necessary Hold PA1 and PA3 spraying certificates (or be willing to achieve with training) and be responsible for keeping up CPD points as required for NRoSO. Hold, or be willing to achieve with training, a forklift licence Assist with the harvest operation which will involve assisting picking teams, loading/un-loading apple bins off the harvesting machinery, loading/unloading lorries. Assist, if required with packing operations..My client have multiple sites and so a driving license is essential.
Generous remuneration dependent on experience.
