Job Description:

The Airport Terminal Manager is expected to lead an integrated efficient and effective terminal (Port Elizabeth, Skukuza and future locations) which delivers exceptional services in compliant with all regulatory and legislative requirements while providing a safe and secure environment. The Terminal Manager is required to lead, inspire and motivate the Port Elizabeth and Skukuza team and future locations which we want to grow.

This role has full responsibility for safety, financial, leadership and operational performance of the station. The post holder is expected to deliver excellent working relationships with all key stakeholders, customers, airport authorities and third-party suppliers. In addition, will lead and manage the performance and development of direct reports including operators and maintenance focal points.

Work Location

The successful candidate will be based at the Port Elizabeth International Airport while remotely managing the day to day running of Skukuza airport and future locations that we plan to grow in.

Working as part of the wider management team, the post holder will be expected to contribute to and deliver our customer HSE and commercial business plans.

Main accountability include:


To monitor performance, seek continuous improvement and take corrective action where needed, managing change and improvement initiatives as per Shell standards
Responsibility for the management, safety and operational performance of the station, which includes ITP operations, receipt of product, maintenance of the fuel facility and the sites vehicles
To develop, contribute to and agree service delivery standards internally and externally.
To manage operational budgets in line with forecast and always ensure financial process integrity
Monitor and report on performance against those standards and to ensure appropriate corrective action is taken to ensure customer requirements are consistently met
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of incidents, accidents and near-misses as per customer and company business requirements
Ensure adherence to Shell Airport Operations Manual (SAOM) and address/report as appropriate
Ensures that product stocks are maintained at acceptable levels to meet the demand of daily airport throughputs.
Ensures compliance with customer and company business principles for the management of HSS&E
Demonstrable experience of Health, Safety & Environmental Management.
Responsible for regular inspections of operations according to Shell, company and HSSE requirements. This to include regular inspections with the Maintenance focal points and Operators.
Applies company Human Resource policies, manage employee relations and responsible for the recruitment of new personnel.
Manage and support in preparing budget, the raising and issue of purchase orders to suppliers and contractors.
Provides daily support for the needs of all administrative and operational duties required for the safe and efficient operation of site.
Ensure the management of the tank farm facilities is operated and maintained in accordingly with Shell Airport Operations Manual (SAOM) and regulatory authority standards.
Ensure that engineering and maintenance works in the tank farm and on vehicles are carried out safely, completed on time and within budget
Define training needs of employees and contractors involved in the prevention, control and mitigation of major accident hazards.
Ensure all personnel (employees, contractors and external parties) involved in the management of major accident hazards are well informed.
In addition to the above responsibilities and task which the role normally entails, you may from time to time be required to undertake additional or other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the business on either a temporary or permanent basis

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:


A Bachelor’s Degree in any field with a minimum of 5 years significant experience in an Aviation Operational Management position
Experience of Health, Safety & Environmental Management
Working knowledge of general business management
Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships, with business partners, airport authorities and suppliers
Proven extensive experience in team leadership and development
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
Ability to prioritise work load in order of urgency and importance
Excellent Communication skills written and oral
Proficient in all Microsoft applications
Knowledge of Fuels Technical Service
Knowledge of Fuels supply / Distribution logistics
Demonstrable skills and experience of Product handling and control
Demonstrable experience in Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Management
