2nd shift: 4:30pm – end of production
SUMMARY:
Responsible for operating industrial trucks or tractors to perform movement of trailers between loading, processing and storage areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Operate lifting devices to load, unload, transport and stack material
Lifting devices: forklifts, pallet jacks
Perform movement of reefer trailers
Monitor trailers for proper temperatures and fuel levels
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment
Cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries and fueling
Manually load or unload materials
Keep the area clean
Other duties assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
Ability to obtain pallet jacket & forklift certificate
Ability to learn to drive a shag truck
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Valid Drivers’ License
Ability to work independently and multi-task
Basic computer skills and Detail Oriented
Ability to wear, use and maintain personal protective equipment
Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures
Must be at least 18yrs of age
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
6 months’ production experience preferred
Experience driving shag truck preferred
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
Ability to read product labels
Physical Requirements / Environment:
Stand/Walk: Frequently
Lift/Carry: Frequently (up to 50 lbs.)
Push/Pull: Frequently (5 to 15 lbs.)
Bend/stoop/squat: Occasional
Physical Environment: Continuously: Working around moving machinery, working in a damp, slippery and cold environment (Below 40° F)
