Position Description:
Position Purpose:
The Delivery Advisor will work as part of a team to deliver merchandise to customers and ensure the quantity and quality of merchandise. Delivery Advisors will be responsible for delivery, un-crating, and placing of products at customers' homes, construction sites, and other location. Delivery Advisors will work with a partner and will share driving, communication, documentation, and product delivery duties. A successful Delivery Advisor must have a high level of work commitment, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and follow procedures.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
50%- Successfully delivers appliances and plumbing products to customers' home and/or other specified locations; Safely loads truck to prevent damage during transport and unloads trucks of returned product
25%- Obtains customer signature on packing slips for the receipt of goods with regard to pick-ups and deliveries; Documents all pertinent information with regard to daily delivery paperwork for accurate record keeping
15%- Listens to and resolves delivery concerns in the field and escalates issues if beyond their skill-set; Communicates status of each stop with effective verbal and written communication
5%- Performs routine inspections on vehicle using vehicle inspection form and reports any immediate safety concern to management; Cleans and maintains the interior of the vehicle and properly disposes of trash and debris
5%- Assists in training of new Advisors
Nature and Scope:
Reports to a Manager, Recieving.
Environmental Job Requirements:
Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
