Job Description

The shuttle driver transports the refrigerated trailer from the shipping dock to feed mill. These refrigerated trailers are move when it gets done loading, documented and ready to be shipped to its destination. The shuttle driver also moves refrigerated trailer that absorbed the cooler over flow. The shuttle driver is also responsible for keeping the yard clean.

The yard driver transports the live haul trailer from the feedmill to live haul receiving at the plant. The shuttle driver is also responsible for keeping the yard clean. Must be willing to binding and unbinding live haul cages at shoulder height and above.

This position is responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor/trailer combinations short distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

This position requires strict compliance with all Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants must be able to maintain accurate logs and paperwork when required. Position is required to keep focus on safety in and out of the truck every hour of every day. Applicants must be willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach. Applicants must be willing to lift 50lbs on a regular basis in many areas (weight depends on area). Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work in either cold, damp or hot, humid environments and these areas may have slippery walking surfaces. Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work out doors in extreme heat and/or cold conditions and requires driving during inclement weather and areas of operation may have slippery walking surfaces.

Job Requirements

Applicants must be able to maintain operational records, must report any safety concerns to supervisor, must maintain DOT records daily and must maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations. Applicants will not be considered prior to 6 months post previous Tyson employment. Applicants that have worked for Tyson Foods 3 times prior, will not be eligible for employment. Applicants that do not show up on time for, tour, pre-employment drug test, post offer health assessment, orientation, or fail to reschedule any part of the pre-employment process unless arrangements are made in advance will not be considered further. Applicants that have a positive or adulterated drug screen or who are unable or refuse to give a sample will not be considered further and must wait a minimum of 6 months to reapply. In addition, applicants must be 21 years of age and have at least nine months of driving experience. Applicants must have a valid Class A CDL.
