SUMMARY:
This person is responsible for the day-to-day review and oversight of all Tyson Poultry, Prepared and Fresh Meats International Transportation and Export Logistics in order to provide complete, accurate and timely reporting of the execution of ocean, rail and airfreight bookings for our international customers.
Specific responsibilities include: coordinate department efforts to meet specific company exporting performance goals; train and lead several management team members in export logistics systems and procedures; develop and maintain export logistics SSOPs, policies and programs as assigned, generate and manage daily exception reports to identify shipping orders that need to be addressed, revised or expedited; work with all shipping suppliers (Rail, Ocean and Air) to economically expedite company export freight orders to international customers, resolve international customer service issues as necessary; communicate on a regular basis to department and division management economic and service related trends affecting Tyson Foods export logistics responsibilities, and review, investigate and approve monthly invoice payments of special or past due international shipping charges, Assign export logistics vendor numbers, audit ocean and air shipping vendor performance metrics and produce accompanying recommendations and regular reports based on findings or repeated deficiency occurrences. Manage and coordinate company airfreight program economically and while meeting customer expectations and needs. Orientate, oversee and measure Export Logistics management team members execution of required international transportation booking duties, review and monitor export logistics systems improvements and required changes with company IT representatives.; other assigned department duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor s degree preferred
Experience: 3 years’ supply chain experience; international transportation operational (importing/exporting) experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Tyson main frame systems including experience in writing queries and data manipulation techniques.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills. Extensive knowledge of USDA export regulations, US Customs exporting requirements and foreign commerce regulatory and business requirements.
Supervisory: Responsible for supervising and training several Team Members.
Travel: 1-4 overnight business trips per year
Required to share in Saturday work coverage with department management Team when required.
