Hundreds of job applicants lined up at Howard Industries in Laurel, Mississippi, hoping for jobs. The openings are the result of a raid that took place on Monday, August 25.
The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency rounded up nearly 350 workers who are suspected of being in the country illegally. Federal warrants were issued for the plant and the company’s corporate headquarters in Ellisville. This is the largest raid of its type in Mississippi in recent years.
