Transportation Sales Jobs

A transportation sales officer prospects for new clients through a variety of sources and sales leads utilizing the Internet, trade publications, and trade shows and develops proposals and evaluation criteria to negotiate sponsorship and advertising agreements. A transportation sales officer coordinates closely with local level counterparts and the officials of other agencies or components to execute agreements. A transportation sales officer obtains legal counseling as necessary and acts as an account manager for clients to ensure that benefits are provided and that the terms of agreements are met. A transportation sales officer also attends related board, committee, and special event planning meetings. A transportation sales officer also provides expert advice and assistance that includes training.
A bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, business, or recreation is required for a transportation sales position. A transportation sales officer must have work experience that demonstrates a proven ability in sales, negotiations, account management, and client care. A transportation sales officer must be able to communicate orally and in writing, and should have a working knowledge of the MWR community. A transportation sales officer must also be fully proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
