Supply Chain Jobs

A supply chain professional is responsible for managing key supply chain-related functions such as material planning, scheduling, and ordering activities associated with the delivery of specific customer products, direct and indirect material purchases, and inventory control. A supply chain professional manages shipping and receiving to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maintaining assigned inventory levels. A supply chain professional is expected to train and educate direct reports on the use of various business systems, reports, and other related tools to ensure the timely and economical completion of customer requirements.
A supply chain professional should possess a bachelor's degree in materials, operations, purchasing, business, engineering, or a related field. A supply chain professional should possess full knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) and order generation process logic. A supply chain professional should possess an understanding of materials management concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, and inventory control. A supply chain professional should have detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing and process variation reduction concepts as they relate to materials management. Five to ten years of experience in manufacturing with an emphasis in master scheduling, planning, purchasing, and material control is required.
