Transportation Management Jobs

A transportation management officer analyzes the major administrative aspects of substantive, mission-oriented programs, and then generates and applies new hypotheses and concepts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations. A transportation management officer directs, implements, coordinates, and/or oversees a variety of management programs and conducts detailed analyses of the most complex functions and work processes of broad administrative or technical programs. A transportation management officer performs the duties of a contract officer's representative and makes recommendations for improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations.
One year of full-time specialized experience in the use of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative techniques for measuring effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity is required for a transportation management position. A transportation management officer should have skill in analyzing problems of a unique nature and providing procedures to resolve them. A transportation management officer must also have the ability to communicate effectively to provide guidance and assistance to management and the public.
