Transportation Assistant Jobs
Transportation assistants process all transport-related documentation. A transportation assistant monitors inbound transportation from both domestic and overseas locations. A transportation assistant transports passengers to and from aircraft and terminals and prepares and processes the required documentation for outbound transport of personal property. A transportation assistant checks passengers for appropriate the boarding passes, travel orders, and identification. A transportation assistant is responsible for the performance of preventive maintenance such as vehicle inspections, servicing, etc. A transportation assistant must compile, formulate, and audit transportation reports. A transportation assistant performs duties as an aerial port database assistant. A transportation assistant coordinates with base agencies, headquarters, and the commercial industry in securing reservations for transport to domestic and international locations.
A transportation assistant candidate must have been at the next lower grade level or its equivalent under other pay systems in the federal service. Examples of creditable specialized experience include the transportation of military/civilian personnel and their dependents. One year of specialized experience involving the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position is typically required for a transportation assistant position.
