Truck Driver Jobs

A truck driver operates a crawler tractor in piling trash, clearing brush and small trees, developing fire lanes, participating in fire management activities, etc. A truck driver operates front-end attachments, such as bulldozers, angle dozers, or other attachments, and also operates farm tractors with auxiliary equipment for farming, mowing, maintaining dikes, and other related activities. A truck driver operates a truck-tractor that requires a commercial driver's license (CDL) to transport heavy equipment over public roads and highways and performs preventative maintenance and makes minor repairs and adjustments to vehicles and equipment. A truck driver performs or directs the performance of oiling, greasing, and refueling of equipment and the affixing of the proper attachments. In addition, a truck driver makes minor operating repairs and adjustments to equipment and assists mechanics in making major repairs.
A truck driver should have the ability to troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, and modify a variety of heavy mobile vehicles and equipment without more than normal supervision. A truck driver should have the ability to interpret instructions, technical manuals, illustrations, specifications, diagrams, schematics, and similar guides to make repairs and modifications. A truck driver needs the ability to use and maintain hand and or power tools and equipment required to do the work of a heavy mobile equipment mechanic. A truck driver should have the ability to conduct inspections and document any corrective actions that are required.
