International Transportation Jobs

An international transportation professional manages the transportation of international freight for import and export shipments. An international transportation professional also manages relationships with brokers (negotiating rates, monitoring service levels, and tracking performance). An international transportation professional ensures the accuracy of import duties, oversees the routing and rating of import shipments, tracks and coordinates shipments to insure the timely and accurate flow of merchandise, and ensures that all documents and declarations are accurate and in compliance with regulations and trade agreements. An international transportation professional works with ocean carriers, import regulations, and the Homeland Security Department and customs. An international transportation professional should have experience in a high-volume, small-package distribution environment. An international transportation professional must possess a strong sense of urgency and must thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
An international transportation professional should possess a bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics, or a related field. An international transportation professional should have five-plus years of experience in transportation or a distribution-related field. An international transportation professional should possess strong computer skills. A successful candidate will have strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills. An international transportation professional must be able to work under pressure and with deadlines.
