Warehouse Jobs
A warehouse officer is responsible for the inventory control of materials for the given institution. A warehouse officer's work consists of receiving, cataloging, stocking, and issuing all incoming materials from outside sources. A warehouse officer utilizes purchase orders to ensure that all items received are of the nature and quality ordered, determines sequences for loading materials, and organizes incoming transport vehicles for maximum space utilization, safety considerations, and damage protection. A warehouse officer orders, transports, stocks, and sells merchandise in the trust fund sales unit. A warehouse officer maintains adequate shipping and receiving and inventory documents, using both manual procedures and automated data processing systems, so as to maintain a system of perpetual inventory accountability for all items that pass through or remain under the officer's control.
A warehouse officer position typically requires a high school diploma; a bachelor's degree is preferred. In addition, a warehouse officer should have the ability to supervise other workers and technical practices in general. A warehouse officer should also have the ability to interpret instructions, specifications, and the like and have knowledge of materials.
