Transportation Technician Jobs
A transportation technician has to provide wing/group staff surveillance of transportation operations and develop training programs for the given unit’s assigned transportation reservists. A transportation technician provides technical transportation expertise and guidance to the resource plans officer. A transportation technician also monitors unit vehicle authorizations, distribution, and disposal and manages the unit’s 463L pallet and net program. In addition, a transportation technician performs internal management auditing for self-inspection programs of all transportation functional areas. A transportation technician supervises vehicle operations, utilization, maintenance, inspections, supply, and inventory control.
A transportation technician must possess one year of specialized experience at the next lower pay band or its equivalent under other pay systems. The quality of this experience must clearly demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary to perform the duties of the position. In addition, a transportation technician should have knowledge of an extensive body of transportation regulations governing entitlements and documentation requirements for domestic or foreign relocation travel in order to provide advice on travel procedures, restrictions, and allowances and to resolve conflicts or issues related to the travel.
