Transportation Specialist Jobs

A transportation specialist performs office automation work requiring the use of software applications and computer equipment and prepares correspondence, reports, technical documents, graphs/charts, forms, and other office support materials. A transportation specialist performs work requiring the receipt and processing of information related to a variety of programs and collects program-related requests, forms, etc. from organization staff. A transportation specialist performs filing work including the establishment, maintenance, control, protection, and disposition of records for efficient reference services and the efficient retrieval of information and materials. A transportation specialist ensures the overall adequacy of operating procedures regarding the final loading of air cargo and accurately records flight schedules for cargo load planning.
A transportation specialist must possess one year of specialized experience at the next lower qualifying pay band or equivalent grade under the General Schedule (GS) or other pay systems. A transportation specialist should have the ability to communicate effectively in writing, knowledge of office automation software applications, knowledge of clerical practices and office routines, and knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of fleet management. A transportation specialist should also have the ability to establish and maintain a filing system and knowledge of office administrative practices and procedures.
