Transportation Service Jobs

A transportation service officer serves as a transportation assistant to the systems and equipment branch manager. A transportation service officer performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties and provide semi-technical support and automation support to specialists engaged in highly technical aviation safety functions that involve the certification of aircraft. The duties of a transportation service officer include using computer skills and knowledge of various office software programs; researching and preparing background data for correspondence, meetings, reports, etc.; reviewing and initiating correspondence; assigning mail controls; maintaining records and files; and ensuring the timeliness of responses to both internal and external customers.
A transportation service officer must have a bachelor's degree and at least one year of specialized experience. A transportation service officer is responsible for preparing and maintaining office documents, reports, technical files, and records. In addition, a transportation service officer should have the ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate information and to coordinate activities with technical personnel.
