Transportation Security Jobs

A transportation security officer acts as a liaison with the TSA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the CIA, the FBI, and the National Counterterrorism Center in the analysis and review of intelligence and intelligence products involving threats of explosives being used against the aviation domain. A transportation security officer coordinates the dissemination of relevant technical intelligence to field transportation security specialists including explosives and bomb appraisal officers. In addition, a transportation security officer applies the latest technologies and state-of-the-art developments to improve field operations.

A transportation security officer must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to that of the next lower pay band/grade level in the Federal Service or private sector. A transportation security officer must demonstrate good judgment by making sound and well-informed decisions and must be able to perceive the impact and implications of decisions even when data are limited or solutions may produce unpleasant consequences. A transportation security officer should be proactive and achievement-oriented. A transportation security officer should also have the ability to investigate and provide technical consulting services on the entire range of transportation security issues.
