Transportation Representative Jobs

A transportation representative develops and approves a cost-effective contract quality assurance plan and sets policies and procedures for quality assurance/quality control processes. A transportation representative oversees a given contractor's quality control and performance and informs the contracting officer of any technical or contractual difficulties encountered. A transportation representative also informs the contractor of any failures to comply with the technical requirements of the given contract. In addition, a transportation representative monitors, coordinates, and/or oversees the work of on-site contractor personnel and prepares and approves cost estimates. A transportation representative also approves proposed contract changes, including those which are technical in nature, and makes recommendations to the contracting officer regarding changes in scope or performance standards to improve service delivery.

A transportation representative should have extensive knowledge of contract administration and procurement regulations together with technical knowledge of occupancy management and design and construction project policies and processes. A transportation representative position also requires knowledge of project management principles and methods for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources.
