Transportation Executive Jobs

The primary job of a transportation executive is to advise on, administer, supervise, or perform clerical, administrative, or technical work involved in the provision of transportation services to the government, the regulation of transportation utilities by the government, or the management of government-funded transportation programs, including transportation research and development projects. A transportation executive directs the activities of the personal property and passenger travel sections, ensuring that traffic management support complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. A transportation executive provides documentation, counseling, and rate and routing determinations to ensure the lowest overall cost method/mode is used according to established company guidelines.
A transportation executive should have knowledge of standardized personal property and passenger travel services, policies, principles, practices, techniques, laws and local ordinances, regulations, policies, and authorities, in addition to skill in applying this knowledge and integrating the relevant elements with the missions and programs of the organizations served. A transportation executive position also requires knowledge of the technical capabilities of a variety of types of commercial carrier modes including the factors influencing transportation rates and operating costs in relation to personal property and passenger movement.
