Transportation Clerk Jobs
A transportation clerk tracks and updates all the information in the automated transportation system and processes over, short, and damaged vehicles through the cargo processing system. A transportation clerk updates cargo, mail, and passenger data for home and down line stations and provides information to military and civilian personnel regarding entitlements for the transport and storage of personal property. A transportation clerk reviews and validates applications, orders, and computer products to verify authorization and legal entitlements for the tracing, delivery, transport, and storage of personal property. A transportation clerk clears inbound transports for delivery to residences or placement into storage and prepares and processes applications for the transportation or storage of personal property including privately owned vehicles. A transportation clerk ensures that proper storage is awarded equitably to commercial contractors at all rate levels.
A transportation clerk must have a high school degree or its equivalent. One year of specialized experience involving the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position is also typically required for a transportation clerk job.
